What makes you different? What unique thing do you offer that no one else can? What is it that makes you special? Now some of you may say that you don’t know what that is and some may doubt that there is anything unique that you have to offer. I am here to say that we all have something unique. We have all been blessed with a special gift, a talent that was meant to be shared to the world! You not living out your talent is a disservice not only to yourself but a disservice to the world at large.
Usain Bolt, the Jamaican phenom, is regarded as the fastest person in history. He has won 6 Olympic gold medals in sprinting and 11-time World Champion. As a result of his success on the track he has had phenomenal success off the track as well. He is the highest paid athlete in track and field and considered the world’s most marketable athlete. The world knows his name and he is cheered on by millions of fans every time he steps onto that track because he did and continues to do what makes him special. He is living out his special talent like no else can.
So how do you find what that talent is? You have to be honest with yourself. What is it that you enjoy doing? What do you seem to be good at naturally that others seem to have trouble with? What recharges you when your batteries are low?
Now what your given talent may not call for millions to shout your name as you approach a finish line yet your gift could be more impactful. However, to those few it may be seen as invaluable. So how do you find what that talent is? You have to be honest with yourself. What is it that you enjoy doing? What do you seem to be good at naturally that others seem to have trouble with? What recharges you when your batteries are low? These 3 questions, though simple enough, will point your compass in the direction of your special gift. All that’s left is for you to move your feet. It’s not necessary that you move at world record speed, all that matters is that you are moving in the right direction. Remember, “direction is so much more important than speed, many are going no where fast.”
So make a promise to yourself, if you don’t know what your unique gift is, ask yourself these 3 questions and be honest with yourself. If you do not know what that gift is do not let fear get in the way of you showing that gift to the world. Someone is in desperate need of the special talent that you alone possess.
We have all been blessed with a special gift, a talent that was meant to be shared to the world! Share it!!
