Time is the ultimate equalizer. It, without fail, will either exclaim you or expose you… Continuing to consistently do the right things for long enough and time will exclaim your successes from the mountaintops. If you choose to consistently do the wrong things then time will inevitable expose you as a leech from the swamps of society. If you choose indecisiveness and do not do the right or wrong thing consistently time will expose you as a resident of the plains of mediocrity. Unable to have what your heart dreams of and just out of the reach of your worst nightmares. Time is neither good nor bad. It just is. How we choose to use time will determine what path we travel down. Each decision we make resets our compass either towards the mountaintops, swamps or plains of mediocrity. Which way are you heading?
Time is essential and required part of growth. It takes time for a caterpillar to grow into a butterfly. It takes time for a lion cub to be the King of the Jungle. It takes time for all these things to go from what they are to become what they can be. Just as these things require time to go from where they are to where they can be so do you also require time to bridge that gap. You must trust the process that you are going through and not rush through it to just get to the other side. “Dig if you will this picture”… if a caterpillar rushed through its cocoon stage just to be a butterfly. “I don’t want to be still anymore. I can’t stand being in this stage, I feel like I’m doing nothing with my life!” It rushes through this stage to become a butterfly however it did not develop the necessary skills to live as a butterfly. It crawled all its life and wanted to wake up one day later to be able to fly but didn’t give its wings a chance to develop.
Imagine the scene if a lion cub rushed to be the King of the Jungle. “I can’t wait to be bigger and stronger. I want to be in charge so everyone listens to me!” It rushes through this stage to become the King however it doesn’t develop the necessary skills to live as the King of the Jungle. It doesn’t know how to hunt. It hasn’t developed the patience to know when to attack. It hasn’t developed the skills to suffocate larger prey. This lion will never be King and be able to care for its pride as it is not even capable of taking care of its self. How many of us have tried to rush through our cocoon phase just so we can fly sooner? How many of us so badly want to be the King or Queen of our domain that we rush through our season of training that we need to grow through to become what we desire. Are you giving yourself time to become what you are destined to be?
We each have 24 hours in a day. The successful, the mediocre, the caterpillar, the butterfly, the cub and the lion are all gifted with the same amount of time in the day. The only difference is the use of that time. Allow time to be your ally. Use that time to grow and develop. Remain faithful to process. Stay resilient. Be Great.
Time is the ultimate equalizer. It, without fail, will either exclaim or expose you…
