“It was all a dream!  I used to read Word Up magazine” – Notorious BIG

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” – Martin Luther King

“Street dream are made of these” – Nas

Biggie had dreams, Martin Luther King had dreams, Nas had dreams. It seems as if everyone has a dream yet how many of us actually wake up and actually work to make our dream become a reality? Its easier to dream, to have your mind take you to an alternative reality of your own choosing, to create a world that differs from our current situation, to have, hold, do and experience what we truly desire. Why do we think that we can only experience those things in a dream and not in our reality?

The irony is that everything that the mind can conceive the body can achieve. If you dream it, you can do it! The mind is more powerful than we give it credit for.

Floyd “Money” Mayweather, considered by many to be the best pound for pound boxer on the planet, started as a dream. He grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, sharing one bedroom with 4 siblings to now a 19 bedroom mansion in the suburbs of Las Vegas. These outward manifestations are a result of his dream to be “The Best Ever”. It was a dream that caused him to have laser like focus on accomplishing that dream. The motivation from that fueled his “Hard Work, Dedication” mantra that is heard during his renowned training sessions. Because of what started as a dream Mayweather was able to HAVE the impossible…

It seemed for a long time that the body could only run so fast.  Roger Bannister was the first person recorded to break through those limits and run a mile in under 4 minutes. He accomplished this feat in May 1954.  It was his experience 2 years earlier of not earning a medal in the 1952 Olympics to fuel his desire.  He intensified his training, worked harder and with singular purpose. Because of what started as a dream Bannister was able to HOLD the impossible…

Mike Tyson, once considered “The Baddest Man on the Planet.”  Routinely knocked out opponents in the first round. When he fought it wasn’t a matter if he was going to win or not it was more so what round he was going to knock out his opponent.  However, Buster Douglas’s mother who died 3 weeks before the fight believed that her son could beat Mike Tyson. That belief inspired a dream that he could do what no one believed could be done. It was such a for drawn conclusion that Tyson would win that only one casino would allow bets, the odds 42 – 1. Because of what started as a dream Douglas was able to DO the impossible…

Superbowl 42, The New York Giants vs The New England Patriots. The Patriots just completed the first undefeated regular season since the 1972 Dolphins and wanted to finish the drill holding the Lombardi Trophy. However, the Giants had a dream that in a months time they would face off against the Patriots and do what no one else in the world believed. After they lost 38-35 in the regular season to the Patriots they knew they could turn that dream into a reality and trained hard to ensure it came true. Because of what started as a dream The Giants were able to EXPERIENCE the impossible…

All of these accomplishments started first as a dream, they started as a wish, they started as a desire.  These dreams are the things that ignite the fire in the human body to burn with a singular purpose.  A fire that consumes any obstacle in its way to accomplish what it was created for.  It are these dreams that allow us to extend our reach to become known as “The Best Ever”, break records that were deemed humanly impossible, knock out “The Baddest Man on the Planet”, and create unbelievable moments with tremendous force trying to hold you down.  They did it, why can’t you?  They accomplished their dream, why can’t you?  They overcame their obstacles, why can’t you?  The world is filled with a great multitude of people who had the courage to make their dreams reality.  However, the cemetery is filled with even more people who were afraid to pursue their dream.  Impossible is nothing but an opinion of those who do not believe.  The world is in desperate need of your dream.  It is unique to you and only you can bring it to fruition.  Because of what starts as a dream, you can HAVE the cure for cancer.  Because of what starts as a dream, you can HOLD the answer to ending world hunger.  Because of what starts as a dream, you can DO what you fear and inspire others.  Because of what starts as a dream, you can EXPERIENCE a fulfilled life that so few get to live.

What seems impossible is only that to
those who don’t think it can be done. For dreamers, for those who believe it can be done, there is no such thing as
impossible!
